ICM-40608 is a 6-axis motion sensor that integrates a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer, belonging to TDK InvenSense's high integration MEMS sensor series for mainstream and low-cost applications. It achieves a good balance between performance, power consumption, and cost.

A significant feature of ICM-40608 is its ultra-high integration. It is not just a sensor, but also a 'sensor system level chip'. It integrates a powerful programmable processor internally (usually based on ARM Cortex-M0+or similar cores) with 3MB of embedded flash memory.

Due to the algorithm running within the chip, ICM-40608 can directly output processed high-level information (such as quaternions, steps, and activity types) through a simple I ² C/SPI interface, rather than just raw data. This greatly simplifies system design, reduces requirements for main processor performance, decreases software development workload, and shortens product time to market.
