High-Precision Six-Axis MEMS Motion Tracking® Device
The ICM-42688-P is a six-axis motion tracking device that combines a three-axis gyroscope and a three-axis accelerometer. It features a configurable host interface supporting I3C℠, I²C, and SPI serial communication.
It is equipped with a 2 kB FIFO and two programmable interrupts, supporting ultra-low-power motion wake-up to minimize system power consumption.
The ICM-42688-P supports high-precision external clock input, which helps reduce system-level sensitivity errors, improve directional measurements in gyroscope data, and minimize ODR sensitivity to temperature and device variations.
The device is the first to support a 20-bit FIFO data format, achieving high data resolution. This FIFO format encapsulates 19-bit gyroscope data and 18-bit accelerometer data.
Other industry-leading features include the InvenSense on-chip APEX motion processing engine, designed for gesture recognition, activity classification, pedometer functionality, programmable digital filters, and integrated temperature sensors.
The device supports a VDD operating range from 1.71V to 3.6V, as well as an independent digital input/output power supply VDDIO with a range of 1.71V to 3.6V.
