SCH16T-K10 Sensor Chip Selection Guide

SCH16T-K10 Sensor Chip Selection Guide

The SCH16T series (SCH16T-K01 and SCH16T-K10) provides ideal 6DoF performance in a single package for industrial applications. This series includes two variants: SCH16T-K01 for high-performance gyroscope measurements, and SCH16T-K10 for high-speed rotation measurements. The series offers exceptional linearity and offset stability across the entire temperature and measurement range, enabling centimeter-level precision for mechanical dynamic and position sensing even in harsh environments.

SCH16T-K01:

As industrial equipment becomes more highly functional, the number of electronic components incorporated is continuously increasing, necessitating miniaturization of sensor packages. Additionally, with the growing automation of industrial equipment, there is an ever-increasing need to accurately obtain dynamic attitude angles and self-position. Orthogonality of each axis (X, Y, and Z axes) of the sensor is a crucial factor for more precise estimation of dynamic attitude angles. To date, users have had to perform external calibration with other devices to ensure orthogonality.

To address this, Murata has developed a high-precision 6-axis MEMS inertial sensor with low noise and stable output. Each axis of the gyroscope sensor and accelerometer outputs values corrected for orthogonality. This simplifies the user's calibration process and helps reduce production costs. Furthermore, its compact design helps save PCB space. With just the \"SCH16T-K01\", a 6DoF system with guaranteed orthogonality for 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer can be realized.

SCH16T-K10:

The SCH16T-K10, a high-performance 6-axis inertial sensor for drones and robots developed by Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

In drone flight controllers and high-performance robot applications, there is a requirement to meet gyroscope measurement ranges exceeding 1,000dps and accurate sensing conditions without output saturation in operating environments. Building on the SCH16T-K01 released in January 2024, Murata developed this product using proprietary 3D-MEMS technology, achieving a gyroscope measurement range of ±2,000dps while ensuring robustness and stability. Additionally, it realizes an acceleration measurement range of ±16g, ensuring stable operation without output saturation even in the demanding application environments required by drones and robots.
