In industries such as gas supply, chemical production, metallurgical energy, etc., accurate measurement of gas directly affects production efficiency and energy management. Vortex flowmeters, with their unique measurement principle and stable performance, have become one of the ideal choices for monitoring gas flow.
1. Adapted measurement principle, sensitive response
Vortex flowmeters are based on the Karman vortex street principle. When gas passes through the flowmeter, alternating vortices will be generated behind the obstructive body (vortex generator). The frequency is proportional to the flow velocity. Since gas is a gas medium with good fluidity, vortex flowmeters can quickly capture flow changes and ensure measurement accuracy (usually ±1.0% to ±1.5%).

Unlike vortex turbine flowmeters, vortex flowmeters have no rotating components such as rotors inside, and are less likely to be damaged by trace impurities or moisture in the gas. They have higher long-term stability and are particularly suitable for measuring media such as coke oven gas, natural gas, and liquefied gas.
3. Wide range ratio, adaptable to different working conditions
The range ratio of vortex flowmeters is usually 10:1 or higher, which can meet measurement requirements at low flow rates and also adapt to gas pressure fluctuations in occasions such as gas pipelines in steel mills and chemical plants.

4. Corrosion-resistant materials, ensuring long-term reliability
For the corrosive components such as hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) that may be present in gas, vortex flowmeters can use 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy alloy, etc., which are resistant to corrosion, ensuring long-term stable operation and reducing maintenance costs.
5. Intelligent functions, enhancing management efficiency
Modern vortex flowmeters support 4-20mA, pulse output or RS485 communication, and can be connected to SCADA or DCS systems to achieve remote monitoring and data recording, helping enterprises optimize energy consumption and improve production efficiency.
